A few months ago, we had a food delivery and more bananas showed up than we expected. I didn’t want to waste any bananas. We started making banana bread. Then we decided to try another recipe. We looked online and found an easy, one ingredient banana ice cream by Andrea Duclos.
The first time we made it, I had a blast because I like to use the blender. A cool fact about the recipe is that you can even eat it for breakfast because it is made of only fruit. We like to add blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and of course, bananas. You don’t have to add extra fruit if you don’t want to.
It takes us about five minutes to make the ice cream. I hope you enjoy making this as much as I do, or more.
Ingredients
The ingredients for this will vary depending on what flavor ice cream you want and how much.
You will need at at least 1 fresh banana and then frozen bananas. The amount will vary depending on how much you want to make.
You can add in other frozen fruit to change the flavor. [For the batch pictured here, we also added in a fresh nectarine, mango and frozen raspberries.]
Instructions
- Add fresh fruit in to a blender first.
- Add in frozen fruit.
- Start blending. Depending on the strength of your blender you may want to use the pulse feature so you keep the consistency like ice cream and not soup.
- Optional: Add toppings. Hemp seeds can add protein.
